Day 1: Arrived late, lost luggage, was hot & sweaty all night but was so thrilled to meet my roomates and my teammates and my director Tim. My roommates Sarah, Sadie, and Leslie are kinda sorta pretty much amazing. My group, Purple, is consisted of geniuses superheroes and badasses. I literally couldn’t have asked for a better group or director. PUR-PLE! PURPLE! PURPLE! PURPLE!

Day 2: Newseum, STARBUCKS, learned a LOT about PR, which definitely deepened my desire to join that field. Felt like a rebel going into the boys dorms for our ever-exclusive “Purple Party.” We had a DJ and a bouncer and this one kid got so drunk he jumped off the third floor window! But don’t worry, he lived. No. We sat in a blogging circle and watched sports, like true media junkies.

Day 3: HODAHODAHODAHODAHODAHODA! & whatever else we are doing today. I’ll have an update for you later

P.S. I’m wearing my Hoda dress, so my day WILL be great.

There are only 25 days left until we embark on this once-in-a-lifetime experience known as the Washington Journalism and Media Conference!

But that also means I have to wait a whole 25 days….

I can’t waitttt to meet all of you who are sitting at your computers, waiting like I have been. I can’t wait to get to know 250 other kids from all around the nation who are just as passionate about journalism as I am. I can’t wait to meet government leaders whose footsteps we may gracefully walk in someday.  I especially cannot wait to meet MS. HODA KOTB, my career-path idol since I have been alive and breathing.

WHAT WILL I SAY TO HER?!

“Hello, Ms. Kotb. It’s nice to finally meet you. I like your hair. Bye.”

“Hello, Ms. Kotb. I’m Rondene and I have been stalking your life for a while now. Bye.”

“Hello, Ms. Kotb. May I please be your new best friend? Please?”

….Or maybe I could just get her autograph and leave.

Well, whatever I decide to say, I have 25 longgg days to plan it perfectly.
